Heya.
I'm Jex
(don't forget to scroll down)
hm, who is that?
Jex is a 17 year old enby who exists most of the time
They're generally just chilling
why are you here again?
Right, you probably want to know things about Jex
Here's some things:
They use they/them pronouns
They pass out regularly and unexpectedly
They own 18 swords, and various other medieval weaponry
They're aro/ace
They prefer to vibe when possible
They have aphantasia
They are in fact a person, and have a life outside the internet
They write music, sometimes
They once buried a shrimp
They are immune to the cold
They have four meow floofs
Wow.
That's a lot of things
Some of that should probably be elaborated on,
so let's do that, shall we?
Say, what's an enby?
Enby, for those unaware, is the term for a nonbinary person. Jex is an enby. If you have a problem with this, Jex doesn't overly care, Jex is just vibing in a corner.
Jex's vibing does not affect you.
And what's nonbinary?
Nonbinary is an umbrella term for anyone who doesn't fall into the gender binary of male/female.
Some nonbinary people are both male and female. Some are somewhere inbetween. Some are something else entirely.
Jex is neither. They're just a person, and as far as they're concerned, they don't have a gender.
Even if they did, they wouldn't know what to do with it.
They/Them? But that's how you refer to group of people!
Well, yes, but not exclusively. Individual people can and do go by they/them. It has been grammatically correct for as long as the singular "you."
If you are for some reason morally opposed to using they/them for Jex, they can't make you do so, but they would prefer if you did use their correct pronouns.
Also, don't worry about offending Jex by accidentally using the wrong pronouns, you won't offend them unless you're actively trying to.
Wait, Jex passes out? That sounds concerning!
It's annoying significantly more often than it is concerning.
Jex has a thing called orthostatic hypotension.
Whenever you sit up, even slightly, or stand, your blood pressure drops. In most people, your brain automatically corrects this so you don't pass out.
Jex's brain does not do that. Jex passes out very often, but will usually be back relatively quickly.
Jex has managed to convince some code to update their discord status whenever they pass out, so you can check that.
They apologize if it happens at odd times.
Why on earth does Jex own medieval weaponry?
Jex teaches a thing called HEMA, which stands for Historical European Martial Arts.
It's a fancy acronym that essentially means that Jex teaches people how to swordfight like people did back in medieval and renaissance times.
Except Jex does so with weapons that dont kill people, and head protection. Becasue murder is a crime we prefer to avoid.
If you're curious about this, feel free to ask them more about it.
I've never heard of aro/ace!
Aro/ace is shorthand for aromantic/asexual.
This means Jex is not sexually or romantically attracted to anyone, they're just here to vibe.
Aphantasia is a fancy word!
Aphantasia is defined as the inability to visualize. For Jex this includes both visual visualization, such as picturing something in your head, as well as auditory, such as having a song stuck in your head, or hearing an internal monologue.
Jex thinks this is a fascinating topic, and you should feel free to talk to them about it anytime!
Jex has a life, that's more important than internet conversations?
Yes. As do you. Keep this in mind.
Jex writes music? That's nifty!
They do! And they have a lot of fun doing so, too. if you want to hear some of it, feel free to ask them to share!
Jex does not mind playing music for others!
Wait, why did Jex bury a shrimp?
When Jex was 8, their father informed them that the shrimp in the bag of frozen shrimp were, in fact, dead.
This is common knowledge, but not to 8 year old Jex!
They determined, with the utmost skill, that the shrimp was named Jimothy, and gave it a funeral in a shoebox.
You can't be immune to cold! So how is Jex?
Nobody knows why, but Jex doesn't really feel the cold. They don't mind being in below-zero temperatures in a t-shirt.
This has resulted in frostbite before, but they have learned to recognize when a temperature is not safe.
Hm. Jex seems to have run out of space.
If you want to know more, you'll just have to interact with them, I suppose.
